Law firm Scali Rasmussen announced today that Joseph P. Sbuttoni has joined the Firm’s Labor and Employment Law group and will be officed out of the firm’s San Diego office.

“Joe has a highly specialized practice in the automotive space,” said Managing Partner, Christian Scali. “He adds tremendous value to the Firm’s clients.”

Mr. Sbuttoni is a creative and experienced labor relations and employment law attorney, with first-chair employee relations and collective bargaining experience. He represents and advises clients on sophisticated labor relations, legal compliance, wage/hour and risk-management issues. He works with his clients to develop a consistent and credible response strategy, designed to solve short-term issues and achieve long-term goals while protecting the client from unnecessary distractions or expenses.

Mr. Sbuttoni also has extensive trial experience in labor litigation before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), with numerous reported cases of impact. These cases include Malco Enterprises of Nevada, Inc. d/b/a Budget Las Vegas, JD (SF)-08-19, which vindicated the employer’s ability to enforce broadly-worded employee civility and conduct rules in the workplace, cutting through years of adverse NLRB decisions and interpretations which made even the most basic of such rules very difficult to enforce lawfully.

With over 25 years of experience as a labor relations and employment attorney, Mr. Sbuttoni has worked with some of the leading employment law firms in the U.S., including Gordon & Rees and Ogletree Deakins, as well as the boutique firm of Fine Boggs & Perkins. He earned his J.D. from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.

Scali Rasmussen attorneys are thought leaders within their areas of practice, including a formidable knowledge of the automotive industry. The firm’s attorneys provide litigation services in a broad scope of practice areas as well as counsel and education on new and trending issues including distribution and franchise, consumer product safety, privacy & advertising and employment law.
