Eric Weiss’ practice areas for the firm include automotive law, employment law, business law, toxic tort law, products liability law, and complex litigation. Prior to joining Scali Rasmussen, Eric spent 23 years at Murchison & Cumming, LLP, including the last 15 years as a Partner. Among other roles, Eric served as National Trial Counsel for benzene litigation for FUJIFILM Corporation, and its various subsidiaries. As a result, Eric served as lead counsel in dozens of benzene cases in state and federal courts throughout the country including New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, Illinois, Missouri, Nevada, Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Texas. In addition, Eric worked on a variety of product liability and general liability cases involving catastrophic injuries.
A native of the Washington, DC area, Eric graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Eric then moved to Los Angeles where he attended, and graduated magna cum laude from, The Whittier College School of Law in Los Angeles. Eric was Lead Articles and Notes and Comments Editor for the Whittier Law Review. More importantly, it was at law school where Eric met his wife, Heather. The two have been married for 30 years and have two lovely children.
Eric and Heather are Founding Parents of Larchmont Charter School in Los Angeles. The school opened in September of 2005 as a K-2nd grade elementary school with 120 students. Today, Larchmont Charter School has over 1,400 students enrolled in grades TK-12 across four campuses, and is one of the most desired charter schools in Los Angeles.
