Information we collect & how we use the data
(a) Visiting our website
When you visit websites, use search engines, or conduct business on the Internet, many different parties gather information about your online behavior by tracking your searches, visits, and transactions, and then by matching that data with other information about you.
We only passively collect very limited information about you when you visit our Website.
We use cookies to improve website performance and collect analytic data. By “cookies” we mean small text files placed on to your computer by websites you visit. “Cookies” may also refer to local storage, which is a mechanism similar to cookies where the information is stored within your web browser. In some instances, we place these cookies ourselves. In other instances, this is done through our use of Google Analytics, a third-party service. Analytics tools placed in cookies give us a better understanding of how people engage with our website, which in turn helps us gauge the current performance of our website features and to develop better content. Non-personally identifiable information is collected when you visit our website. This may include: Browser type and version, operating system, referring site, pages visited and time spent on each, and approximate geographic location (based on IP addresses). You have the ability to accept or decline cookies by modifying your browser and our Website is viewable even if you disable the cookie function on your browser. However, if you disable cookies, some advanced and customized features may not be available to you.
On occasion, we may also access this information to investigate or maintain the stability and security of our website.
We do not use automated technologies to collect information about your online activities overtime and across third-party websites or other online services targeted advertising and therefore our Website does not respond to “Do Not Track” requests.
(b) Information you submit
If you choose to contact us via contact form on our website, we may collect information such as: your name, email address, or any other information you choose to include in your message. This information is solely used for the purpose of responding to your inquiry and will not be sold, shared, or used for marketing without your explicit consent.
NO ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP IS ESTABLISHED WHEN YOU CHOOSE TO CONTACT US VIA CONTACT FORM ON OUR WEBSITE. (Read full disclaimer)
If you sign up for our email newsletter, we may also use an embedded image to track whether you open our email. We use this information to improve the performance of our site and newsletters.
(c) Phone service
We use a third-party communications service called RingCentral to manage our phone calls and text messages. If you contact us by phone or SMS/RCS text, RingCentral may collect basic information such as your phone number, call duration, call time, and message content.
This information is used solely for communication purposes and to help us respond to your inquiries. We do not sell or share this data beyond RingCentral, and we only retain it for as long as needed to manage our communications with you. SMS/RCS text consent is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
RingCentral’s services are subject to their own privacy policy, which you can review.
If you have any questions or concerns about how your phone or text data is handled, feel free to contact us directly at inquiries@scalilaw.com.
Third party vendors
We work with a limited group of vendors to process data, facilitate the operation of our website, and deliver messages to you on other platforms. For example, outside vendors like Cloudflare, MailChimp or Google will help analyze traffic on our site or send out periodic email updates.
How third parties use the cookies feature
Our site is connected in a variety of ways to content residing on other platforms. We provide links to content on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, and to content on other sites, such as articles posted on the sites of news organizations. Our site may also feature embedded media, such as videos, that are hosted on other platforms (such as YouTube) but viewable directly through the buttons we provide. When you click on links or buttons for any of these types of external content, the providers of that content may place their own cookies on your computer, access existing cookies that were set when you previously visited other websites, or otherwise gather information about you as you access their content. To learn about how those content hosts treat the data they collect through cookies and otherwise, see their respective online privacy policies and other posted guidance. We do not vouch for those privacy policies either. You should read them and make your own decisions about them.
