Scali Rasmussen partner Jack Schaedel has again been tapped to speak at the upcoming employment law seminar hosted by California Lawyer, the premier legal source for news and events in Southern California. The 2019 Employment Law Forum will cover the most important substantive and procedural issues currently confronting employment lawyers. The informative, cutting edge and comprehensive employment law content is valuable for corporate counsel, employment lawyers and those involved in the human resource process.
Jack will help kickoff the forum on the panel Cutting Edge Issues Presented by the New “Gig” Economy. The new “gig” economy is triggering many changes—from legislative proposals in the wake of Dynamex, to new laws and theories that would allow independent contractors to join unions.
Jack has spent nearly 25 years assisting clients in labor and employment law matters, including defending them in wage-hour and employment litigation and advising them in managing their workforces. He joined Scali Rasmussen in 2018 as Co-Chair of its Labor & Employment Practice.
Jack’s clients have as few as two employees and as many as 100,000, and are based in Southern California and throughout the United States. Jack guides them through the finer points of discrimination and harassment law, wage and hour regulations, family and medical leave, handbook development and enforcement, and the panoply of issues they may face on any given day. Jack also speaks frequently on wage-hour law and other employment-related topics to employer groups and bar associations.
