Gus N. Paras has a regulatory and transactional practice. He was part of the team at Scali Law that drafted the California New Car Dealers Association’s 2015 Advertising Manual and routinely advises automotive dealerships on advertising compliance, Red Flags compliance and compliance with F&I regulations. Mr. Paras also advises dealers on franchise obligations and operations, business contracts, vendor agreements, commercial leases and buy/sell agreements. He has also represented dealers in disputes with vehicle manufacturers before the New Motor Vehicle Board. Mr. Paras stays current on regulatory enforcement and guidance and enjoys helping clients find marketing solutions that accomplish their goals while complying with applicable laws.
Mr. Paras attended law school at the University of Southern California, where he received a merit scholarship and participated in the Hale Moot Court Honors Program. While earning his Juris Doctor and a Business Law Certificate, he served as a research assistant to Professors David B. Cruz and Rebecca Brown and worked as a summer associate for Metrolink (Southern California Regional Rail Authority). Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Paras often attended car shows with his family. He appreciates a wide variety of classic and new vehicles and is a proud owner of a 1967 Ford Mustang . In his spare time, he enjoys road trips, camping and cycling.
